An issue that Pence raised throughout the 2016 presidential election... (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE, SAYING: "She had a private server." He often railed against Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while she was secretary of state. But what wasn't known at the time was that Mike Pence himself had used a private email account to conduct public business as Indiana governor. According to the Indianapolis Star, Pence used the account at times to discuss sensitive matters and homeland security issues. When the account was hacked last summer, the newspaper reported that Pence set up a new AOL account. Pence's office issued a statement saying quote "Similar to previous governors, during his time as Governor of Indiana, Mike Pence maintained a state email account and a personal email account." And in his defense, The White House says Pence "wasn't handling classified information" like Clinton was.
