ROUGH CUT. NO REPORTER NARRATION. British Prime Minister Theresa May campaigned in central England on Saturday (April 22) to secure votes in June 8 snap election which she described as "the most important election for this country" in her lifetime. May called the national election in a surprise move, saying it was necessary to provide stability as Britain gears up for two years of negotiations with the European Union about its departure from the bloc. Her main opposition is the Labour Party which, under leader Jeremy Corbyn, has been trailing significantly in the polls. Polls currently give May's governing Conservative Party a lead of around 20 percentage points.
