Crissy Field, here in San Francisco, will be packed for the Patriot Prayer group's "Freedom Rally" on Saturday, and city officials say they are doing everything they can to maintain safety at the far-right group's event. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHIEF BILL SCOTT, SAN FRANCISCO POLICE CHIEF, SAYING: "No guns will be allowed in the permitted area. The law is the law. We haven't changed the law. What we need the public to know is that they will not be allowed to bring handguns into this area or any other area of the city that is city property." Officials are banning a number of items from the rally. The San Francisco Police Department will be out in full force, hoping to prevent the event from turning into a scene, like the recent Charlottesville rally. (SOUNDBITE) (English) CHIEF BILL SCOTT, SAN FRANCISCO POLICE CHIEF, SAYING: "We're doing the best we can. Given the situation we have to make the best of what we have and provide for public safety." Officials are also urging the public to simply ignore the rally and not give it any more attention. (SOUNDBITE) (English) LONDON BREED, PRESIDENT, BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, SAYING: "We will not let this rally tear us apart. We will not let this rally destroy our city. We are prepared to do whatever it takes to flip the script." Police plan to separate the Patriot Prayer rally-goers from any counter-protesters expected to attend.
