Cervical cancer kills hundreds of thousands of women worldwide annually. In South Korea, it is the fourth most common female cancer with over 3,000 cases reported every year. Despite its high prevalence, South Korea has a low HPV vaccination compared to other advanced economies. Experts argue this is a result of a lack of social awareness and public health policies.
