LONDON, Feb 2 (Reuters) - The UK's financial regulator said on Thursday it is aware of an ongoing incident at a unit of financial data and markets company Ion, which was hit with a ransomware attack earlier this week.

"We're aware of this ongoing incident and we will continue to work with our counterparts and the firms affected," a Financial Conduct Authority spokesperson said on Thursday.

Ion Markets said on Tuesday that part of its company called Ion Cleared Derivatives "experienced a cybersecurity event".

Ion declined to comment when asked by Reuters on Thursday.
